Many of the major vehicle OEMs and several new start-up companies will be releasing their electrified models at the end of this year or in 2011. Here at GE, we are developing the best technology to further the Smart Grid. Therefore, we are conducting ongoing research to investigate how electric vehicles will add load to the grid. Today, GE is taking another step by announcing a memorandum of understanding to further this research with a leader in electrified passenger vehicles, Nissan. It is exciting to think that a new revolution in how we fuel our cars is just around the corner. To make it a sustainable change, many questions need to be answered and the best possible customer-vehicle ownership experience created. Research that will be conducted between Nissan and GE will help ensure that electrification of the passenger fleet does really happen in the most efficient and reliable manner that is consistent with a smarter electrical grid.

Congratulations to you and your team; Matt !!! Very interesting article. EV and HEV is the future for the transporation industry. Just a question to know when it will reach the mass market. GE should be ready to answer the demand and be an active actor in this area.

This more like a one paragraph press release than a blog article.
